History
Massive Equipment Rental & Sales Ltd. emerged from a lineage of family-operated small enterprises and stands today as an integral part of the Massive Group of Companies.
Its roots began when Michael Godfrey launched Townend & Godfrey Brothers Ltd., in his home country of Jamacia with his brothers. Their success led to a merger with Heber Arch’s Caymanian-based company, H.J. Arch Construction. In 1972, the newly formed Arch & Godfrey Construction company launched. Seeing a need for construction equipment in Cayman, Michael started Arch & Godfrey Rentals a few years later, in 1978.
Twenty years later, the legacy of the family-owned rental operation continued with Michael’s daughter and son-in-law, David and Christina Kirkaldy, taking on day-to-day operations. The couple relaunched the company in 1998 with an unforgettable name: Massive Equipment Rental and Sales Ltd.
